Vilnius Night Office is organising a programme of practical lectures and training for venues participating in the Dainyklos programme, focusing on issues that arise in the day-to-day operation of cultural and nightlife venues, staff skills and creating safer environments.
Two lectures for Dainyklos venues have already taken place this year. In September, representatives of the Culture Division and the Licensing and Permits Division of Vilnius City Municipality met with the venues to discuss the municipality’s work, event organisation, permits and other practical issues relevant to their activities.

The second lecture, held on 6 October, focused on music licensing. Representatives of LATGA and AGATA explained the differences between copyright and related rights and discussed music licences, their administration and the calculation of fees. Together with the venues, they also addressed specific situations encountered in practice.
By the end of the year, Dainyklos teams will also take part in training on first aid, mental health when working at night, harm reduction and prevention related to psychoactive substances, and the prevention of sexual violence.

As the current Dainyklos programme runs for two years, lectures and training will continue next year. Topics will be selected based on the questions and needs that arise in the venues’ day-to-day work.
Through these lectures and training sessions, we aim to provide Dainyklos teams with practical knowledge, help them prepare for a range of situations they may encounter while working in the evening and at night, and contribute to safer and better-functioning cultural venues in Vilnius.
