The "Nebesvaik" project has reached its end, but its importance does not end there.

Laisvės TV X's project "Nebesvaik", which was launched in the spring of 2024, aimed at preventing the use of psychoactive substances and reducing harm, has achieved its goal. This 12-episode series, in which the face of the show, blogger Benas Lastauskas, spoke with toxicologist Gabija Laubner Sakalauskienė, examined various aspects related to psychoactive substances and their use, and collected almost 500 thousand views on the YouTube channel.

Each episode discussed different psychoactive substances, their effects, risks associated with use, and ways to reduce harm. The shows also explored the problem of addiction, discussing how to recognize dangerous use habits, and how to help yourself or someone else.

Vilnius Night Bureau, concerned about the safety of nightlife, is pleased to have been able to contribute to this project. The bureau's project manager, Emilija Gaidytė, who has many years of experience in the fields of prevention of psychoactive substance use and harm reduction, was part of the project's creative team. We are grateful to the entire Laisvės TV X team for the courage to talk about something that is uncomfortable, but extremely important.

The project has ended, but the topic remains relevant and no less important. Psychoactive substances have been, are and will be present in society, so the key question is how we will react to it and what decisions we will make. Scientific research shows that threats, bans or other harsh measures will not achieve positive changes. Therefore, following the good practices of other countries, we aim to reduce the harm of consumption, educate and create a safer environment.

We are proud that during the entire project period (2 seasons) as many as 90 partners joined its implementation, who were not afraid to publicize information about this complex topic. Although the project has ended, all the created content remains accessible and continues to spread an important message - you can find all episodes here.
