This year, “Vilnius Days” will invite visitors to discover not only the city by day, but also Vilnius after dark. On the night of 5 September, a new event initiated by the Vilnius Night Office will join the festival programme. “Vilnius Nights” will invite residents and visitors alike to discover the capital’s night-time culture.
For one night, four Vilnius clubs – “Anna Mesha. Butas”, “Cornercafé”, “Elastica” and “Gallery 1986” – will become part of a shared city programme. Each club will present its own distinctive music programme and atmosphere, while a single €10 ticket will allow visitors to move freely between all four participating clubs.
All four clubs are within a 20-minute walk of one another, so rather than spending the entire night in one club, organisers are inviting visitors to embark on a night-time journey through the city – discovering new music, different communities and the diversity of Vilnius’ night-time culture. The full programme and artist line-up will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Vilnius Days has always invited people to discover the city through its culture, people and public spaces. But Vilnius also comes alive after dark – that is when another side of the city emerges, shaped by clubs, musicians, cultural organisers and their communities. With ‘Vilnius Nights’, we want to invite people not only to enjoy a night out, but also to discover this part of the city’s culture. We hope that for many, it will be an opportunity to visit a club for the first time, discover new music or find a place they will want to return to,” says Laura Vaišnorė, Director of the Vilnius Night Office.
The new programme is not aimed solely at regular nightlife audiences. It is open to anyone who wants to get to know Vilnius better – from visitors to the city and first-year students to Vilnius residents who may never have visited any of the participating clubs before. A single ticket will give visitors the opportunity to experience all four clubs in one night, compare their programmes and discover the atmosphere that suits them best.
The participating clubs represent different sides of Vilnius’ night-time culture. “Anna Mesha. Butas” stands out for its elegant atmosphere and carefully curated music programme in the city centre. “Cornercafé” is a DJ bar centred around the community of the electronic music collective “Draugai Draugams”. “Elastica”, housed in an industrial space near the railway station, is an electronic music club that has become an important hub for techno and underground culture. “Gallery 1986” is a music, art and night-time culture venue of more than 1,000 square metres, located in a former radio factory and hosting concerts, electronic music events and interdisciplinary art performances.
“Vilnius Nights” will invite visitors to experience the city not only in an enjoyable but also a responsible way. During the event, visitors will find safer nightlife guides in the participating clubs, while the first arrivals will receive special items created for the event. After the event, Vilnius’ night bus routes will provide a convenient way to get home.
“Vilnius Nights” will take place on 5 September from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tickets are already available online, and the full event programme will be announced in the coming weeks.
