Estrada is not just Estrada!
The word "Estradà" contains several meanings. It is the soaring, sentimental old Lithuanian Estradà, a musical genre. Taking into account the past and taking the best historical examples, today we are creating a new "Estradà". Immediately Estradà - 2 years old!
We have an unexpected and rare opportunity to hear composer Teisutės Makačinas live - one of the most prominent creators of Lithuanian pop music.
His name is inseparable from the songs "The Wind Told Me", "Berniukai", "Sugrąžk, kol nevėlu", "Pašauki" and many other works that have become part of the Lithuanian musical memory. True, his significance is much broader than popular songs - Makačinas created symphonies, cantatas, chamber music, organ music, works for theater and cinema, and as a teacher, he shaped the young generation of Lithuanian composers for decades.
In 1982, Teisutis Makačinas released "Disko muzikė" (Disk Music), an exceptional album of academic electronic music at the time, and today his work is being rediscovered by the younger generation of musicians.
We invited Teisutis to share stories about what it was like with the old Estrãda. Estrãda's music, creators, people who shaped the scene, behind-the-scenes stories, the challenges of that period and much more. Vivid memories of those times and Teisutis' own perspective on today's scene.
