About the event
Have you ever felt like you were talking to a wall? Or maybe you found yourself giving advice to someone who just wanted to talk?
We learn to talk, but rarely learn to listen. Most of the time, our conversations turn into a „race”: who can give better advice, whose story is scarier, or whose experience is richer. This message is not about how to put sentences together correctly, but about building a connection through listening.
During the report you will learn:
– Why a good will to „help with advice“ often creates walls, not bridges.
– How to recognize „communication parasites”: comparison, topic hijacking, and fear of silence.
– Why our brains rush to „fix“ others instead of just being there.
– How to practically change your listening habits so that the people around you feel seen and heard.
When? February 18th at 6:30 PM.
Where: At the café-bar "Estafetė" of the cultural complex SODAS 2123.
The lecture is free.
The lecture will be led by Gintarė Buinickaitė, a lecturer and psychologist who has been conducting psychological well-being and leadership training for various Lithuanian and foreign organizations for over 12 years. Today, she pays special attention to the topic of resilience, and building connections with others, the ability to communicate and listen are characteristics of a resilient person.
