Artis Boriss Trio is an intriguing new addition to the Baltic jazz scene, bringing together three long-time stage partners – two musicians from Estonia and one from Latvia. Known for their genre-bending style, the trio effortlessly transitions from traditional jazz to Nordic atmospheres, groove and swing, creating a sound that is both fresh and at the same time strongly connected to tradition. Artis Boriss Trio is currently preparing a completely new program, featuring original compositions. This upcoming repertoire promises a rich blend of groove-infused jazz and swinging rhythms, offering listeners an engaging and contemporary take on the classic trio format.
Artis Boriss is a jazz pianist, keyboardist and producer originally from Riga, Latvia. With a solid foundation in classical and jazz piano from an early age, he graduated from the Riga Cathedral Choir School Jazz Department and later studied at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with renowned pianist Kristjan Randalu. He currently lives in Tallinn and is an active participant in both the Estonian and Latvian music scenes. He works as a producer and performer, collaborating with many well-known artists in various genres – from jazz to pop and hip-hop, including Siim Aimla, Jason Hunter, Rita Ray, nublu, Ellip, Lexsoul Dancemachine, JULIANNA, Kris Denn and many others. Whether on stage or in the studio – Artis brings refined musicality and a contemporary flavor to every project.

He received a bachelor's degree in jazz music from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and has since become an active and versatile performer. Joosep has played with various pop and rhythmic music artists, participated in television projects, and is a sought-after musician in dance and event groups. He is also a member of creative ensembles such as Flow Rea, with whom he recently released the album Pulse. His playing is based on a deep groove and a solid rhythm, but always leaves room for freedom and spontaneity, which makes each performance unique.
Ramuel Tafenau is a drummer and composer active in jazz, pop and theatre music. As a drummer, he has collaborated with both orchestras and Estonian rappers, and has also played with many well-known jazz and pop musicians.
