About the event

Over the course of almost 20 years of operation, the academy has trained hundreds of young filmmakers. Every year, students create several dozen short films that reflect their worldview, creative pursuits, and growth. This year, we invite you to a retrospective of these works – screenings of thematically different programs that will allow you to look at the history of the academy through films created by students and discover ideas born in different years, see generational differences, and points of contact.
Film screenings will take place in the alternative culture space "Utopija". Every summer month, three free short film screenings will be held here. Each of them will be followed by a discussion with the creators of the films presented in the program. We invite everyone who is interested in cinema made by young people to the screenings! Films will be shown with Lithuanian and English subtitles.
The screening series will begin on June 15 at 8:30 PM with the program "𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢". The films for this program were selected by Laurynas Grikštas, cashier-administrator of the "Skalvija" cinema center and philosophy student. After the screening, he will also moderate a discussion with the filmmakers.
Laurynas introduces the program as follows: "The program is a combination of a single program and a single program, Students of the "Skalvis" Film Academy are invited to see the city in their own way: You / You, looking for yourself and others, experiencing the unity of the city, surrounded by people on the streets, isolated in not always harmonious, but living in the city "The world is full of people, and the„

UTOPIJA

UTOPIA. T. Kosciuškos g. 1, Vilnius

Developed in collaboration with The House of Histories, UTOPIJA was established in 2023 in the courtyard of a former detention center and manor. It is symbolic that a place where artists and creatives were once imprisoned has, through cultural initiative, become a space where music, art, and freedom can flourish once again. UTOPIJA celebrates alternative culture, street art, and bold, uncompromising music. Its program of concerts, parties, and cultural events brings together both Vilnius residents and visitors, while providing a home for diverse communities across the city. With its raw, unpolished character, UTOPIJA embraces the city's rebellious spirit and offers a counterbalance to Vilnius' more polished side.
