About the event
SCIENCE TALKS #1 🧬💬
Should we really create everything that science allows us to create? 👀
At the first Science Talks event, the Vilnius-Lithuania iGEM 2026 team invites you to take a broader look at synthetic biology — from what we can already create in the lab to the question of where we should draw the line.
Together with VU GMC virus researcher Prof. Dr. Gytis Dudas and VU GMC Department of Botany and Genetics Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raimondas Šiukšta, we will talk about synthetic biology, gene editing, viruses, artificial intelligence, and rapidly developing technologies.
🔬 What can we do today using science?
🧠 How are new technologies changing our everyday lives?
💭 Where is the line between "we can" and "we should"?
Lively, openly and without complicated formulations ✨

Stage. Vilnius St. 22
Estradà is one of Vilnius' most distinctive cultural spaces—a multifunctional venue for shared experiences, creativity, and exchange, located in the historic building that once housed Lithuania's first jazz club. Live music and performances are at the heart of its program, with cultural events taking place almost every day. By day, Estradà operates as a café from 9:00 to 17:00, before transforming into a bar in the evening.
