On September 3rd, we are closing this year's "Scanorama Summer" season at "Utopia". The closing evening will begin with Quentin Dupieux's film "The Incident with the Piano", and after the screening, the cinema screen will be replaced by a stage - the band "Inbieras" will perform on it.

The evening's film is "The Piano Affair" by one of the most original directors of contemporary French cinema, Quentin Dupieux. In his cinema, the absurd premise is usually just a way to highlight what has become too commonplace in our everyday lives to be surprising.
This time, Dupieux looks at internet fame and its self-destructive logic. The heroine of the film becomes famous for her dangerous, increasingly extreme videos, but after one unfortunate incident she tries to disappear from the public eye. Only in a world where attention has become a value in itself, disappearing is not so easy. Black humor, grotesque and deliberately distorted reality allow Dupieux to talk about very recognizable things – the need to be visible, an audience that demands ever greater sensation and a life that is increasingly created as an image for others.
After the movie – „Inbieras“. The alternative rock band from Kaunas combines guitar energy, calmer intonations and subtle folk music motifs in their music. After the debut EP „Jaudulys“, the single „Audra“ and the latest track „Tarp tēvēs ir pasausali“, the band is preparing for their first studio album, which will be released this fall.
„The "Imbieros" concert will continue our friendship this summer with Vilnius University radio station "START FM" and its event series "RADARAS". "RADARAS" is dedicated to discovering alternative music and culture - not only introducing new names to the stage, but also giving them more space to be heard through interviews and live broadcasts on "START FM".
We will open our doors at 6 p.m., so please come early. Icetopia will be serving free ice cream to evening guests.
„"Scanorama Summer" has moved to different Lithuanian cities throughout the season, adapting the program in each to the location, its cultural context, and community. On September 3rd, we will conclude this year's journey in Vilnius - with the last evening at "Utopia".
