About the event
2026 is a special year for the entire jazz world. We are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the legendary trumpeter Miles Davis, and the program prepared for this occasion will take you to the magical sound of Miles Davis's early days! Miles Davis was one of the most influential jazz trumpeters and musical innovators of the 20th century. He constantly changed his sound and contributed to the emergence of several jazz trends - from bebop and cool jazz to modal jazz and electric fusion. Davis was famous not only for his masterful playing, but also for his ability to gather the most talented musicians around him and boldly break traditions. Miles Davis's playing style was exceptionally restrained, elegant and full of deliberate minimalism. He often chose to play few notes, but each of them was carefully thought out and emotionally precise. In this concert you will hear Miles Davis's work as it was before his great turn into the world of electric fusion-jazz: from the warm, elegant sound of "Birth of the Cool" to the iconic "Kind of Blue" and the amazing energy of the acoustic trio. This is the music that wrote Miles into music history and still attracts millions of listeners around the world.
