Multicolored musical landscapes, starting from deep inner feelings and ending somewhere at a bird's eye view - these are the songs of Justina Kaminskaitė. With simple strokes of keys, voice and text, the singer creates landscapes of harmony, in which the listeners can also walk. Sometimes those strokes of the keys become more complex musical textures, and an explosive emotional charge breaks out from under the cozy and lyrical surface.
When Justina picks up the guitar, you can recognize a dual aesthetic: the ballads of a traveling troubadour are replaced by the deceptively simple songs of a court jester with jazz overtones, which, if you listen carefully, most clearly convey certain divisions in worldview.
For the musician herself, each concert of her original songs is a kind of return closer to her axis, roots, reconciliation with life experiences and hearing herself anew. Some know Justina as a theater creator, teacher or educator, others as a leader of “Scenas Bandymai” or a novice performer of baroque vocal music. Under all these guises, she remains a person who writes songs.
