About the event
One of the most prominent figures of the younger generation of American jazz is tenor saxophonist and composer Ephraim Dorsey. The Baltimore-based musician is rapidly rising to the international stage and has already performed with world-class stars, from José James to Kamasi Washington. A graduate of the Peabody Institute and a former member of the prestigious NYO Jazz Orchestra, Dorsey represents the new wave of jazz - bold, modern and original.
He is joined by energetic drummer Héctor L. Falu Guzmán, a Berklee College of Music graduate from Puerto Rico who has performed in the US, Canada and Europe with prominent contemporary jazz artists. His playing is expressive, creative and pulsating with the rhythms of Latin American culture. Héctor’s music combines tradition and contemporary themes, giving the language of jazz a new, relevant sound.
This international duo is joined by double bassist Ian Quinton Bann and pianist Domas Žeromskas. Together they will present original, contemporary jazz music – lively, intense and full of improvisational energy.
This is a concert for those who want to hear where global jazz is headed today – and get to know musicians who will soon be the talk of more and more stages around the world.
