About the event

On Saturday, November 22, we invite you to a 4-hour workshop with artist Saule Noreikaitė, where she will share somatic practices and creative methods acquired during her participation in the ATLAS program of the Vienna International Dance Festival Impulstanz. During the five weeks spent in Vienna, Saulė developed the performance „We Are All Afraid of the Future“ — a work that explores themes related to loss, bereavement, and mourning, which we may all be experiencing right now. By participating in various creative workshops and observing plays and performances during the festival, Saulė has collected a set of practices and methods that she wants to share with the workshop participants and explore together in greater depth. These are various somatic body practices and creative methods that the artist used when creating her performance sketch and continues to use in her daily artistic practice. During this workshop, Saulė will share the methods she learned while working with artists, choreographers, dancers, and playwrights: Sara Shelton Mann, Benoît Lachambre, Guy Cools, Kira Kirsch, Martin Kilvády, Angélique Willkie, Veza Fernández, Oneka von Schrader, and others.
The workshop is intended for artists who use their body and/or voice in their practice. During the workshop, time will be dedicated to working with their physical body, warming up and exploring, and creative-improvisational tasks. Participants should wear loose clothing, bring water, a notebook or paper, and a pen.
The workshop is free, but registration is required (spaces are limited). Register by email: noreikaite.saule@gmail.com and indicate "Workshop SODAS2123" in the subject line.
The workshop will be held in English. If you have any further questions, please contact us at the email address above.
The project is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
