For one evening, the rooftop terrace of the Energy and Technology Museum transformed into the city’s quietest dance floor. As part of the Upės Festival programme, Electric Dances with the Vilnius Night Office invited Vilnius residents and visitors to experience the silent disco format – dancing, enjoying live music and spending a summer evening wearing wireless headphones.
For many attendees, it was their first experience of a silent disco. With the music playing exclusively through wireless headphones, the event created a unique atmosphere while allowing the celebration to continue without disturbing the surrounding neighbourhood.
The evening opened with Gemayel, whose eclectic electronic music set set the tone for the night. She was followed by the avant-garde rap duo Mesijus x Münpauzn, who premiered new material alongside their well-known tracks. Valdagger closed the event with an energetic trance set that kept the dance floor moving until the very end.
“Electric Dances showed that people are open to new nightlife formats. For many visitors, it was their first silent disco experience, but it quickly became clear that music played through headphones can create just as strong a sense of connection as a traditional concert. We’re delighted that the event became a memorable part of the Upės Festival and offered people a new way to experience Vilnius at night,” says Laura Vaišnorė, Head of the Vilnius Night Office.
Alongside the music programme, visitors could enjoy the Vilniaus vandenys water cocktail bar, relax in the Gijos chill-out zone, and take in one of the finest panoramic views of Vilnius from the rooftop of the Energy and Technology Museum.
