About the event
An interactive lecture on the development and activities of jazz nightclubs in Harlem (New York) in the early 20th century. The large number of clubs in one area of the city led to a large number of jazz bands and jazz compositions, as well as such a wide and rapid emergence of performers and recordings of this style of music. In the lecture, we will review the reasons for such a “boom”, the most important clubs that had the greatest influence on jazz dancing. After the lecture, there will be a dance evening with jazz (swing) music.
