Jazz Cellar 11 invites you to an evening of jazz dedicated to the life and music of two great legends of the genre – Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie. Their exceptional careers, which left a deep mark on jazz history and resonate in the music of modern jazz performers to this day. Ella Fitzgerald, called the ”first lady of jazz”, captivated the world with her beautiful voice, unique interpretation and bold improvisations, which were not typical for female singers of that time. And Count Basie, being not only a pianist, but also one of the most famous big band leaders, created a unique rhythmic swing feeling, which became a cornerstone in the evolution of jazz.

This dedication to the legacy of jazz legends was initiated by two prominent Lithuanian jazz musicians, a duo on stage and in personal life – singer Veronika ChiChi and pianist Dmitriy Golovanovs. From elegant, sophisticated ballads to enchanting, strongly swinging and energetic compositions – the program will feature the favorite and most famous works of Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie, revealing their unparalleled musical mastery and influence on the jazz world.
