A concert dedicated to the legendary saxophonist Charlie Parker. A pioneer of the bebop style, whose work changed the history of jazz. The Manvydas Pratkelis Quartet will present a program that reveals the energy, virtuosity and inexhaustible freedom of improvisation of this music. Fascinating not only with his masterful performance, but also with his unique sense of humor, Manvydas allows the audience to relax and get to know the music and hear its stories even closer.

In 1955, saxophone virtuoso Charlie Parker (1920–1955) passed away. He was one of the most innovative jazz artists, developing the bebop style, characterized by fast tempos, virtuoso technique, and advanced harmony. This concert is dedicated to the memory of the legendary musician and composer.

The initiator of the project, Manvydas Pratkelis, has been studying Parker's improvisational style for many years and integrating it into his own work. The saxophonist, who received a master's degree from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, is distinguished by his versatility - his style combines traditional jazz, free jazz, fusion, hip-hop, funk and R&B.

Vytis Nivinskas – Doctor of Arts, Associate Professor, one of the most prominent Lithuanian double bass players, music creator and researcher – has performed in more than 20 countries with many famous performers. Founder and co-author of CinAmono, Baltic Asteroids, Trio Užribis and many other groups and projects.
Darius Rudis – a lecturer at VIKO, LMTA and B. Dvarionas School, one of the most active and respected drummers in the country.
