Vilnius – a socially responsible and safe city

The well-being of Vilnius is a shared responsibility for all. When spending time in the city at night, attending cultural events, and interacting with other visitors or nightlife venue staff, we remain polite, respectful, and responsible.

In case of health or behavioral issues, seek help or call 112.

Trust emergency services.

If someone nearby loses consciousness or if you have concerns about a person’s health condition, call 112.

Provide as much information as possible – dispatchers are trained to provide emergency assistance over the phone and will give step-by-step instructions on how to help the person in need.

Be honest, as this will help paramedics provide the necessary assistance more effectively. This will not have any consequences for you.

If a person does not want to talk to us, we respect their position and leave them alone.

Tips on how to respond and help individuals who are being harassed:

Express your support.

This can create a sense of safety.

Find a safe and quiet space for conversation.

Noise and crowds can worsen the situation.

Listen without prejudice.

Allow the person to share their experience without moralizing or judging. Inform the venue staff about the incident.

Be cautious with physical contact.

Treat the person as they wish to be treated.

Help them get home.

If the person does not feel safe, offer assistance in calling a taxi or finding their friends.

Do not forget your own safety.

If the situation becomes difficult, call emergency services or seek help from venue staff..

If you have experienced sexual harassment, remember – it is not your fault

We stay in touch with friends, make sure everyone has a safe way to get home, and look out for each other.

Finding friends in a crowded environment can be difficult – stay attentive, don’t leave each other alone, and inform them when you are leaving or changing locations.

Share your location and use official transportation apps, ride-sharing services, taxis, or public transport to get home safely.

The best nights are the ones we can remember. We go out consciously and responsibly.

If we consume alcohol, we take breaks and drink water.

If you use psychoactive substances, it is important to understand their effects and the risks associated with their use.

Do not mix substances, monitor yourself and those around you, and remember that you can always refuse to use them. Do not leave your drinks unattended and don’t forget to drink water.

If someone nearby loses consciousness or if you have concerns about a person’s health, call 112.

When we witness inappropriate behavior, we do not stay silent and do not tolerate it. There is no place in Vilnius for racism, homophobia, sexism, xenophobia, or any form of violence.
